We will start on the front and back nine with the first tee time starting at 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the first flight. The second flight is 5:10 p.m. to 5:40 p.m.
There will be a nine hole handicap with a maximum awarded handicap of 18 for individual match play and team net stroke play competitions.
Team net stroke play plus individual match play ends in the first half and starts new in the second half.
The league dues is $25.00 and we take the first 16 teams to sign-up. Greens Frees are $20.00 with a cart at Ingleside.
FORMAT
- Two person teams will play as scheduled.
- Each team match total 3 points.
- The opposing low handicappers play for 1 point (match play-hole by hole).
- The opposing high handicappers play for 1 point (match play-hole by hole).
- The opposing teams play for 1 (stroke play-total net team score).
- Two rain dates will be scheduled at the END of the regular season. If a rainout occurs during the regular season, it will be rescheduled to the end of the year, up to maximum of two weeks. If more than two regular matches are rained out, those matches will NOT be replayed. If one rainout or no rainout make ups are necessary, the playoffs will begin earlier. A playoff schedule will be issued immediately following the final regular season match.
- The score card for each match must be signed or initialed by one member of each team and should show holes won by each player (circle the score if you win the hole), individual and team points won. Scorecards should be left in the mailbox is the pro shop is not open.
- In the event of heavy rain or lightning, during the match, play will be suspended. You will pick another day and start where you left off.
- Handicaps will be adjusted weekly. Handicaps will be based off double par. That is so handicaps don’t get out of hand. For example if you get a 10 on a par 4, I will use a 8 for the handicap.
SUBSTITUTION REQUIREMENTS
- All substitutes must complete the registration form an submit it to the pro shop.
- SUBS CAN’T PLAY IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!
- A team requiring a substitute must contact a substitute and then notify the pro shop as far in advance as possible.
- Handicaps for new substitutes will be calculated after two nine hole matches from the back and front which equals two 18 hole scores.
- In the event a player must drop out from a team, a permanent replacement player may be selected to fill the vacancy. The replacement player must become a paid member and will establish a handicap.
SCORING
- The scoring system consists of a combination of Individual Net Match Play and Team Net Stroke Play.
- Individual Net Match Play: The high handicap players on each team play each other for 1 point. The player that wins more net match holes, wins the point. In the case of a tie(both players win the same number of holes) the point is a split. The maximum stroke differential on each hole, for this competition, is ONE stroke. Similarly, the low handicap players on each team play each other, net match holes, for another point.
- Team Net Stroke Play: The low net team score is used to determine the winner of the third point. The team that wins the low net score receives 1 point. Thus, a total of 3 points per match is possible.
- Ties on any Individual Net Match Play or Team Total Net Stroke Play will result in ½ point being awarded to each team.
- If both players from the same team fail to show up for a scheduled league match, the opposing team receives a forfeit and is awarded 3 points. If there is just one player and a sub that is fine but if one player just plays by himself then the other half automatically forfeits the match play point and team point. The guy that plays by himself can still win his 1 point.
- League Members and Substitutes who had established handicaps from the past year will start off the season with that handicap. New members and substitutes will need to get 2 front scores and 2 back nine scores to establish a handicap.
PLAYOFFS
- There will be a first and second half to the season. The league will be based on points not record. The top 2 teams in each flight for each half will go to the playoffs. There will be 8 teams going to the playoffs and they will be seeded based on total points. The championship match will be an 18 hole match.
- Everyone that makes the playoffs receives gift certificate money to the pro shop.
- The playoffs are tentatively scheduled for August 18th – August 25th. (pending rescheduled rainouts) The championship match can be set by the two final teams.
LEAGUE RULES
- At any time that a player hits their ball into a high grass area, the player will play it as a lateral hazard. You will take one club length from where the ball entered and take a one stroke penalty.
- If there is any questioning on a call during league play, please play a provisional ball and we can go over the ruling on the next day.
