2011 INGLESIDE JUNIOR GOLF CLINIC
Dear Junior Golfers, Parents or Guardians,
Ingleside Golf Club would like to thank all our participants for a great
2011. We are very proud of our
junior programs and our commitment to junior golf has always been our number one
priority. We will continue to teach
juniors the fundamentals of the game, as well as rules and sportsmanship. This is the perfect opportunity for
young golfers from the ages of 7-16 to play and learn about the game of golf. We
hope you will join us again for another great year.
JUNIOR CLINIC
June 26-28, July 10-12, July 24-26, August 14-16
The size of the clinic will be
16 kids per clinic.
Junior golfers from the ages of 7 to 16
can participate in the junior golf clinic.
The days and times for the clinic weeks will be different.
Each clinic week will consist of three
days, Tuesday through Thursday, starting at
8:30 a.m. and ending at
11:30 a.m. Juniors
will be broken into groups, according to age and ability, and sent to separate
stations to work on various parts of their golf game. The price will remain the
same for the junior clinic weeks at $100 per junior. All registration will take
place by mail or by stopping at Ingleside Golf Club. For the Junior Clinic, we will except
cash or checks made payable to Ingleside Golf Club. Payment must be received
with the registration form and all money is non-refundable. We will not be swapping out siblings
or neighbors to replace applicants that drop out after registration. Please understand no substitutions
will be made, NO EXCEPTIONS!
REGISTRATION
When registering the student(s), if in person, the receipt will be given
including the appropriate week.
If by mail, we MUST HAVE AN EMAIL
ADDRESS to send the date and
confirmation. I would
appreciate emails from all applicants; this could end up keeping the costs down
for future years. So, please a
proper email is greatly appreciated.
We will be doing much of our discounting, junior league info, family night,
etc., via of email. Thank you in
advance for the email address.
INSTRUCTORS
There will be two instructors present at
every clinic. Tim Kauffman, Golf Professional at Ingleside Golf Club will be
present at every clinic and I will have someone assisting me at every clinic. We
need volunteers to help these instructors on play days throughout the clinic. Your child will
not be allowed on the course
if enough volunteers fail to supervise.
We must have one supervisor per
group. Golf is not only a sport you
can truly play with your children throughout your life, but consider this a
unique opportunity to bond with your child through the great game of golf.
EQUIPMENT
A limited amount of equipment is available for
those who do not have their own clubs. Please attempt to find your own set of
clubs so we can be sure to have clubs for those who truly need them. Beginner
golfers need only have an iron (7, 8 or 9); a wood (3 or 4); a putter and a
light carry bag. Golf balls and tees are supplied.
DRESS CODE
Dress code is a very important issue when coming onto the course. Proper attire
consists of a collared shirt (one will be supplied), shorts or slacks (no jeans
or cut off shorts), sneakers or golf shoes. Sneakers are okay but if your child
is a regular golfer or progressing in their ability, golf shoes are recommended
and available in our golf shop. Hats are to be worn properly and shirts must be
tucked in at all times.
SNACK
There will be no snack or
drink supplied by the golf course. The only thing we will supply is a water
cooler out at the pavilion that the kids can use. The kids can bring any snacks
or drink if they would like too and other snacks are available for purchase.
Please be sure your child leaves the house with the adequate supplies for their
special needs.
There will be no returns or
exchanges on shirts this year so please fill out the appropriate shirt
size on the registration form. To
keep costs down we only order enough for each clinic week. Shirts will be available for pick-up
as soon as possible once we all have all the spots filled; the order will be
placed. Usually, we have all shirts
by the middle of May. Call the Pro
Shop to see for the arrival date.
This clinic's intent is to
“break even”, not “for profit”. The majority of the costs are
fixed; meaning the money is spent for most items before the start of the
programs. We work very hard to keep the costs down in order to make this clinic
affordable. This is why we stress that we cannot give reimbursements during
rainouts. There is simply no money
left to distribute.
The other often asked question is “Why not reschedule?” The golf course
has many other activities outside of our summer junior clinic. As early as
January we are scheduling around the
junior clinic to accommodate golf outings, member tournaments, junior
tournaments for our high school teams, and other prebooked events throughout the
summer. There is also the issue of people planning their vacations around the
clinic as well as our instructors having other obligations. There is simply no
room to reschedule these clinic weeks considering all the above factors and the
start of the school year in late August. If more than
two full days were rainouts then we would try our best to reschedule at
least one other day to complete the camp.
We would like to thank all the parents for the dedication to junior golf
and we hope to have another successful season!

Thank you,
